Hi Cordia (saddle fitter and ThinLine dealer),
I spoke to you approximately 2 years ago about saddle fitting and ThinLine pads. I used the saddle fitter you recommended and have been very pleased. I also purchased a ThinLine pad and have had not one incident of soreness in my horse’s back since. We have done a National championship CTR since then and won reserve champion, so you know I really use my horse… Thanks for your help in the past and your consideration now.
Cheers,

Great pad! When I got my new mare, I had Danielle Kanavy McGunigal fit my horse for a Kanavy Saddle. I already had one saddle for my gelding and I wanted to see if it fit her as well. I felt the saddle was slipping a little. Since she was not fit, Danielle recommended that I continue to use the saddle I had (No she did not try to talk me into another saddle) and use the Thinline Pad to help until her back made some changes.

I have two pads and my husband and I both use them, never a back issue and the mare even got Best Condition at her next 2 rides. I don’t know how it works but, I will keep using them…

Thinline pads and boots not only help performance horses but rehabilitative weak, asymmetric horses too…

Equetec provides exercise programs for asymmetric, weak, stiff or uncoordinated performance horses and we rehabilitate horses post surgery and/or injury. So often a horse needs an Equetec program due to physical and/or behavioral problems where alleviating back pressure and pain is primary. Once a horse heals, he is relieved with a saddle and pad that is properly fitted and well applied. Under saddle work can begin. Thinline pads have facilitated Equetec’s training and rehabilitation horses by reducing concussion, saddle slippage and improving saddle balance. The Thinline pads work well for transitioning a horse as it is adapting and developing. The Thinline 1/2 back correction pad allows us to transition asymmetrical backs to symmetrical by adding and/or removing inserts. Each horse is taught to move freely, evenly and properly then gradually remove an insert or two as strong, symmetrical muscle replaces pain, weakness and asymmetry. This allows owners to invest in a correctly fitted tree in their saddle and use the Thinline pad and inserts as the horse?s body changes throughout its exercise, training and rehabilitation program. Once the horse is “strong enough” from rehabilitation or fit for the level of activity required for performance, the final flocking and saddle adjustments are made. Thinline pads are adjusted and continued even once a horse is back to normal work. The Thinline boots and shaped pads with inserts are great for daily exercise. Used daily, they support, reduce concussion and eliminate pressure which encourages correct posture: round, soft and supple backs. Thinline boots and pads make happy horses that move freely through their backs, not only for rehabilitation but through daily training in dressage, stadium and cross country jumping. Encouraging soft supple backs with Thinline pads and using Thinline boots are a part of Equetec’s daily routine. We recommend Thinline to all of our customer?s horses for daily preventive care, rehabilitation, to improve performance, stamina and longevity.

Equetec and Thinline have synergistically improved the following types of cases:

  • Hot, sensitive dressage horses improved strength and relaxation to move up to the next level
  • Stiff, resistant horses that lack flexibility and swing in their backs were able to unlock movement; supple in flatwork and bascule over gymnastics, stadium and cross country fences
  • Ataxic or uncoordinated horses learned to balance by developing their backs and hindquarters
  • Behavioral cases including, rearing, bucking, run away, worried/insecure horses improve confidence, obedience and trust
  • Geriatric horses that were losing their top lines were able to build their backs up again and be ridden
  • Back, hip, stifle and hindquarter weakness and injuries were rehabilitated and brought back to full use
  • Podiatry cases that due to improper hoof balance, led to asymmetry throughout the body improved
  • Young impressionable and mature horses were trained and developed in a relaxed, strong body, happy mind and progressed the training scale in harmony with their riders.?

It’s been 2 months since I started using Thinline Pads on all of the horses that I own, ride, and train. WOW! What a difference! From two-year olds just being started under saddle to seasoned roping, cutting and all-around ranch horses the Thinline Pads used in conjunction with our Paul’s Custom Saddles is the perfect combination for any riding discipline. The incredible shock absorption is actually noticeable from the saddle. We are very pleased with the results the pads help us to achieve. The western horse world has finally found a better solution to age-old problems.

Thank you so much for sending me the Ultra Thinline pad. My horses absolutely love them! Since I am getting in so many Hennig saddles to try all the time, I needed a pad that would work for alot of different models, styles and fits. I have tried the pad on both my sensitive backed thoroughbreds and they rounded up quicker, were more responsive to the aids, and I could sit the trots much easier. There honestly was a remarkable difference from using just the sheepskin or plain cotton pads. I will happily recommend this product to my Hennig customers so they can experience their new saddles at their very best and their horses can experience a higher level of comfort! Thanks again!

What I really liked about it, is that is fit the back of my horse, molded to her shape and the bareback pad I use did not slip at all. It was in the same place after hours of riding that it was in when we left. It is easy to take care of, just hose it off and it dries pretty quickly. You can put it in the machine as well, which I tried and it came out sparkling clean, no problems! They come in many shapes and she will even custom make a pad to fit your saddle. It is thin enough so that it will not interfere with the fit of your saddle, but will help ease the pressure on your horses back. I have tried to destroy it!! I have ridden in water, thick brush, ridden for hours and it is still in great shape. It does not compress and will not bunch up or move at all.

I am a trainer who teaches a group of people with horses of all shapes and riders with a lot of love for their horses who want to make riding as comfortable for the rider and the horse as possible. Your Thinline pad has made it possible for both the horse and the rider to be comfortable at the same time. The pad helps both the horse and rider by removing the bounce of the saddle on the back which allows the rider to maintain a position that allows than to follow the movement with ease. The horse is comfortable with the increase in heat allowed to leave the large muscle mass that the saddle sits on. Thank you again for your product and I will continue to tell other riders about the Thinline pads because no matter what you want to do with your horse the Thinline pad will help both horse and rider.

I live in Las Vegas, which in the summer is a very harsh climate in which to ride horses, and makes us very aware of any way we can find to comfort our horses’ backs. I have been riding and showing dressage here for over 30 years, and am currently showing (and doing well!) at Prix St. Georges on my Dutch Warmblood, “Jovian”, whom I trained myself. I was very happy to find the Ultrathin pad, because he has a sensitive back and very wide withers, and other pads always make the saddle too tight over his withers. Your pad makes us both so much more comfortable.

My friend Marylou bought a pad from you I was skeptical when my friend returned from Florida with the Thinline pad. I thought, just another pad with big claims. My interest is dressage. I have had back problems for a number of years. When I started riding the horse, my back hurt and one leg felt flat on the horse and the other seemed to stick out. Although the horse is built well I was having a diffult time getting him to round his back. Then along comes from friend who lends me the pad. I really was amazed. In a couple of weeks my legs didn’t feel the unevenness on his sides, my back didn’t ache, and in all probability, gathering from the way he was going his back didn’t ache either!

I ordered your model #202 as my trainer thought it would be good for my horse. What I didn’t realize was that I really needed it. For the first time in years I no longer have a sore back after I ride. I love my pad!

Warson Recommends a pad made of Impuls, called ThinLine, a shock-absorbing material. “The pad’s about 3/8-inch thick, and it not only helps riders’ back, but also the horses’ back” he says. ..The “saddle pads calmed concussion without bounce or yaw (sideways motion).”
