Care Instructions and Warranty

How to use your ThinLine:

ThinLine, LLC recommends that any basic ThinLine or Ultra ThinLine pad be used between your saddle and regular saddle pad. Most customers use a baby pad or a square cotton pad underneath. Although you can use these pads directly on the horse’s back, the lifespan of the pad may be shortened due to the softness in texture of the bottom surface of the pad. Any pads used in a way not recommended by the manufacturer will not be warranted.
Some ThinLine or Ultra ThinLine pads may come with a crease from where the pad has been folded to be bagged and shipped. These creases typically come out within 1-2 rides, once the pad reaches the horse’s body temperature.

Care Instructions:

ThinLine and Ultra ThinLine: These pads may be wiped clean (we like baby wipes), hosed off, soaked, bleached, or even machine washed (some machines may catch them, so a front loader is best). Mine get hosed in the wash stall. Always wash using cold water, you can use mild soaps and detergents, but please do not put them in the dryer! Hang to dry (which really isn’t necessary either as ThinLine doesn’t absorb water).

Cotton Comfort Pads: You can wash these like any other cotton pad, put the whole thing in the washer, cold water and mild detergent (you can bleach the white ones). Use a mild/gentle cycle. Hang to dry.

Sheepskin Pads: After each ride, flip the pad over with sheepskin facing up and use a stiff brush to comb the hair, removing dirt and fluffing the sheepskin. You may also wait until it is dry to brush it out. Only clean when it is absolutely necessary—sheepskin is not meant to be washed often. To wash, hand wash in COLD water using a sheepskin conditioner. Wring out excess water and hang to dry. DO NOT PLACE IN DRYER OR NEAR DIRECT HEAT/SUNLIGHT. These pads can be machine washed using a sheepskin conditioner, but it is not recommended or warranted. If you chose to machine wash, you must use COLD water.

Boots: These are simple, just sponge off the inside and they are ready to go. These can be also be machine washed or hosed off in cold water (except for the leather boots of course). Bell boots and Cobra boots will need to hang to dry if completely washed or soaked. Bell boots w/sheepskin trim should be gently hand washed or follow the directions above for sheepskin care.

Girths: The girths are similar to the boots, just wipe or sponge off the lining and use a good leather cleaner/condition to maintain the leather.

Warranty

ThinLine, LLC does not warrant any pads that rip or tear after being altered by the customer, e.g. cutting the pads. Machine washed sheepskin pads are not warranted; they must be hand washed with sheepskin conditioning agents (Leather Therapy, Melp, etc.) ThinLine, LLC will replace any defective saddle pads within 1 year of purchase under normal and recommended use. Most riders receive 7 years of hard use from a ThinLine pad, however, using the basic ThinLine or Ultra ThinLine pad directly on the horse’s back may decrease the life span of the pad due to the softness of the texture on the bottom surface of the pad. Pads used directly on the horse’s back will not be warranted. ThinLine, LLC will replace any defective boots or tack equipment (girths, etc) within 6 months of purchase under normal use.
